How To Take Care of Your Teeth?

Do you know the average time a person spends brushing teeth is 45 seconds in the United States? Too less, isn’t it? We should brush our teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and floss too. Taking care of your teeth and brushing or flossing after a sticky food is recommended to avoid any leftovers in the mouth. It can irk you badly if something is stuck in-between spaces of your teeth. However, removing it can be a real deal if you do not brush or floss after your meal.

Use a mouthwash – Apart from brushing at least twice a day and flossing once a day, it is recommended to rinse your mouth with a mouthwash. You may get any flavor, swoosh it around in your mouth for 30 seconds and then spit it out. It helps remove the tidbits left behind even after brushing or flossing.

Avoid sugar – When you have too many sugary drinks or foods, bacteria use that sugar to produce acids to attack your tooth. So, it is suggested to avoid eating sugary substances in any form.

Stay hydrated – Health experts recommend drinking 8 ounces of water every day. Water not only keeps you hydrated but keeps your teeth clean every time.

Change your brush – You must change your brush after 3-4 months as using it for a long time might give you dental problems or bad breath. Using a brush with overused bristles might not help remove tidbits from tough spots in your teeth. Hence, increasing your work and making you brush even harder. Electric or manual brushes have color indicator reminders on the bristles.

Do not overbrush – If you brush too hard, it can damage your gums. Overusing a brush does not help clean your teeth rather it increases your work. It is ideal to check the color indicator on the bristles and change your brush.

Regular visits – It is recommended to visit the dentist regularly and go in for cleaning every six months. Sitting over dental problems only escalates the situation and worsens in the future.
